We have settled in really well, we have now familiarised ourselves with our teachers, routine and made many friends. The topic on Celebrations helped us to learn how different people celebrate their birthdays, weddings and some religious celebrations like Diwali, Bandi Chor Divas and Christmas. Through this topic, we had many discussions where we talked about what we have observed at birthday parties, we have been practicing our fine motor skill and creating wedding cards for Maisy to take with her to the wedding. We have been manipulating playdough to make wedding cakes and used different materials to decorate it. We have been learning to count, write and recognise numbers 1-8 and 2D shapes. Our outdoor learning space has offered us to run around, ride bikes and enjoy the fresh air as we learn. Whilst playing outside we have been learnt about the changes in the environment and looked at the falling leaves and bare trees. We really enjoyed singing ‘The leaves are falling down’ and used our bodies as trees and our fingers as the falling leaves. We have begun to learn new phonics sounds and apply our newly learned Phonics sounds in our reading. We love reading to our teachers and families when get home.
