Communication and Language
This month in nursery children have been looking at different traditional tales. We read ‘The three little pigs. In nursery created small world tuff spot which included puppets and different materials. This encouraged the children to role play and narrate the story out loud and it has supported them in learning more vocabulary and they have really enjoyed this story.

Literacy
This month we have been practicing our name writing, we have been writing on and in different materials. We experienced writing on paper with a pen and pencil, in sand, flour, jelly and even slime using our fingers and paint brushes. This has helped us improve our fine motor skills and some of us can write our name independently.
Personal, Social, Emotional Development
This month children in nursery we celebrated guru Gobind Singh Jis Gurpurab (birthday). During circle time some children particularly enjoyed talking about what that they did with their families to celebrate for Guru Gobind Singh Ji and they shared their experiences with their peers. Children loved reading and learning about stories of Guru Gobind Singh Jis life.
We loved making our own Kalgi using different coloured paint, glitter, sequins and feathers.
Understanding the World
This month we have been looking at a variety of different materials. We collected different strong and weak materials. We read ‘The Three Little Pigs’ story and compared each material.
We also spoke about how the eldest pig worked really hard and was better off compared to his other brothers who didn’t work hard. During circle time we spoke about Guru Nanak Dev Jis third golden rule ‘Kirat Karna = Working Hard’ and related it to the three little pigs story about working hard.
