Welcome to Life at KPS for Year Nursery
Mrs Virdee and Mrs Ali warmly welcome you to Nursery.
The aim of this page is to highlight some of the fantastic learning that has been happening in Nursery, this page will be updated monthly, with photographs and information about the learning we have completed during the month.
We hope you enjoy looking through these updates and do discuss your child’s learning with them to celebrate their success. We look forward to any suggestions you may have to make your child’s learning a pleasant experience.
What we have been learning so far this year:
We have continued to focus on the story on The Tiger who came to tea. Children enjoyed retelling parts of the story during circle time and repeating phrases from the story whilst they were playing in the home corner. The children enjoyed acting out the story and were able to explain why they were feeling upset and happy. When the tiger had eaten all the food children explained to each other about how they should share. Children enjoyed drawing pictures from the story and explain what they have drawn to their other friends. Our children enjoyed discussing with others what they have drawn.
They have also been focusing on big mark making, they used paints and other media materials to focus hand control. Children made big tiger pictures using paint and discussed with other children on what colours they are using.
We have been looking at different jungle animals. The children used playdough mats and playdough to make their own animals by molding the playdough together, they also made the different sounds of the animals they had made.
Children have been counting objects and matching the correct numbers. Children learnt this through different games and activities which they would pick and play amongst other children.
We had an amazing sports day! All children participated in different activities where they were competing against teams. Children used different parts of their body to complete tasks, for example they were crawling under the parachute to get to the other side.
