Welcome to Life at KPS for Year Nursery

Mrs Virdee and Mrs Ali warmly welcome you to Nursery.

The aim of this page is to highlight some of the fantastic learning that has been happening in Nursery, this page will be updated monthly, with photographs and information about the learning we have completed during the month.

We hope you enjoy looking through these updates and do discuss your child’s learning with them to celebrate their success. We look forward to any suggestions you may have to make your child’s learning a pleasant experience.

What we have been learning so far this year:

September 2022

It has been an exciting month to have the children in nursery, the children have settled in really well in Peacock class (Nursery).

They have learnt the routines and the rules in the classroom. We have learnt how to tidy up the class when it is tidy-up time. Children have learnt to sit on the carpet.

Lots of the children have made new friends by playing and interacting with each other.

The children were playing in the home corner learning how to cook by role playing and acting out mummies and daddies. All of the nursery children are learning how to share and taking turns. They have been exploring using different types of jugs in the water tray by pouring, mixing and shaking. Children have been learning how to make a picture by placing the magnetic shapes on the board e.g. using a small circle for eyes and square for the body.

We had lots of different paint brushes and sponges on the table in the painting area which the children were able to access themselves and create a beautiful painting of their families at home.

Children in the nursery class really liked listening to nursery rhymes and singing. They really loved singing ‘the wheels on the bus’ by doing the actions to the song which has helped the children settle in the school.
