April 2021
This month, we have been busy continuing with our traditional tales writing and sewing. We have been busy finishing off our puppet designs and learnt how to annotate each element of our design. We then used our design to inform our making process. First, we cut out the finger puppet shape and then stitched it together using a running stitch. After that, we embellished our felt with smaller cut pieces of felt, fabric pens, buttons and googly eyes – all according to our design. We are very proud of our final puppet products! In English, we have been working extremely hard to retell the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Many of us have innovated the original story and written our own version, for example ‘The Three Little Cats and the Big Bad Dog’. We dressed up in traditional clothes for Vaisakhi and watched the change of the Nishan Sahib on a livestream. In RE, we learnt about the Easter story and what happens in ‘Holy Week’. We were even lucky enough to meet some little fluffy chicks, which had hatched from eggs the week before!
