Welcome to Life at KPS for Year 2

Mrs Sandhu and Mrs Morgan warmly welcome you to Year 2.

The aim of this page is to highlight some of the fantastic learning that has been happening in Year 2, this page will be updated monthly, with photographs and information about the learning we have completed during the month.

We hope you enjoy looking through these updates and do discuss your child’s learning with them to celebrate their success. We look forward to any suggestions you may have to make your child’s learning a pleasant experience.

February 2021

During remote learning the children focused on learning how to tell the time aswell as using objects to find fractions of a given number. In English, the children used the connective but, or, yet and so to join sentences. They used adjectives to write facts about Paddington Bear too. There was also an opportunity to think of and create their very own fantasy setting – chocolate covered land and marshmallows for plants was a very imaginative example. In Science, we looked at various materials and thought about why their properties were suitable for certain objects. The children were introduced to a new unit of learning about families and had written about their very own special people. Aswell as all this, the children continued to read on GetEpic, increasing our points score daily!
