February 2021

This month during home learning – we have started to learn about Ancient Egypt.  The children have been busy researching many facts and information about how people lived in Ancient Egypt, what they wore and what they ate.  We have also read the different myths about all the gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt including the most important God – Ra, the god of Sun.  In Maths, we have started to learn about fractions and what the meaning of ½, ¼ and ¾ is.  The children have enjoyed making their own pizzas at home and cutting them in to different fractions and sharing it equally with their family. In Art, the children have started to research about the Egyptian headdress including the materials, fabric and colours used to create a headdress.  They have answered questions such as who wore the headdress and why the headdress was worn.  In Science, we have started to look at pushing and pulling forces and the role that magnets play in forces.   Finally, the children have also been busy reading on Get Epic and have accumulated many rewards for our ‘Readerpillars’ – well done to all the amazing readers!
