July, our last month in our school calendar, has been jam-packed with fun activities that kept us enjoying school. We finished off our story ’The tiger who came to tea’ by changing the characters in the story. This was quite interesting as we became authors and illustrators. We made booklets and wrote our stories, a really great opportunity to show our creativity in writing and illustrating our own characters and settings. We harvested some of our produce from our allotment and used it in our cooking.
One of the best things we did was having our end of year sports day. It was great fun. We enjoyed working together in teams for house points. Our School mascot Ladoo came to watch us and cheer us on!
We have been getting ready to move to year 1. We had an opportunity to meet our new teachers and see our new classrooms. This was quite exciting. ‘The cautious caterpillar’ story prepared us to understand the need for change and look forward to new exciting adventures in KS1. Our teachers have been allowing us play in the KS1 playground which has more climbing equipment and we love it there!
We spent our last days reflecting on things we had enjoyed and will miss in Reception and talking about our aspirations for Year 1. We finished off by having a party where we dressed up and enjoyed delicious party food.
