Welcome to Life at KPS for Reception
Mr Sembhi and Mrs Virdee warmly welcome you to Reception.
The aim of this page is to highlight some of the fantastic learning that has been happening in Reception, this page will be updated monthly, with photographs and information about the learning we have completed during the month.
We hope you enjoy looking through these updates and do discuss your child’s learning with them to celebrate their success. We look forward to any suggestions you may have to make your child’s learning a pleasant experience.
Our children in Reception have had their first full week in school. They enjoyed selecting a variety of different colours to hand-print with when creating their class bird. They were able to use a variety of different size brushes to select their favourite paint colour to hand-print with. Our children were fantastic at taking turns and sharing the art equipment with their class mates. Well done Reception!
As part of their first week in school, our children have been reading the story of Dave the Dog is worried about Coronavirus in class. They were able to name the different characters in the story and able to recall what they had been reading. Our children were able to talk about what a virus is and what worries they might have during this time. Our children were able to talk about personal hygiene and what they need to do when washing their hands, going to the toilet and when they sneeze in in-relation to self-care and personal hygiene. Our children loved the advice Nurse Dotty has given about looking after yourself and each-other.
Our Reception children were really excited to have their lunch in school. They were all able to follow the rules and behaviour of getting ready to go to lunch in the hall and how to behave once in the hall. We were happy to see all our children try a variety of different food from our school meals and they all had a go and trying to finish their food. Well done Reception for getting your lunch time stickers for finishing your food!
