SECTION 5 OFSTED
15-16 January 2020

On the afternoon of Tuesday 14th January, the school received a telephone call from one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors and the following day an Ofsted team arrived in school to conduct a full Ofsted inspection.
The team looked at every aspect of the work of the school, including the quality of teaching and how well all the pupils are learning, including vulnerable children and those with additional needs. They looked at the behaviour of the children and their attitudes to learning and, most importantly, how well we look after the children and keep them safe and happy. They looked closely at our curriculum to ensure we offer a broad, balanced and appropriate
range of subjects, including how to be good citizens and look after themselves in the virtual and real world. They checked to make sure all our policies are up to date and that we follow all the correct procedures. They observed the children in lessons, at lunch time, in assemblies, at playtimes and on their way to and from school. They talked to the children, staff, leadership team, governors, representatives from the local authority and some parents.
The outcome of the inspection was strictly confidential until today and I am now proud and delighted to tell you that the school was judged to be outstanding in every category, and earned the best outcome possible. The gradings below are very satisfying.
Area | Grading |
---|---|
Quality of Education | OUTSTANDING |
Behaviour and attitudes | OUTSTANDING |
Personal Development | OUTSTANDING |
Early Years | OUTSTANDING |
Leadership and Mangement | OUTSTANDING |
Overall provisions | OUTSTANDING |
This judgement is very difficult to achieve and I am sure you will want to join me in congratulating and thanking all the staff for their excellent hard work and loyalty, the governors for their commitment and support and our wonderful children for being brilliant as always. I also want to thank all the parents for supporting the school in their continued vision of making sure every child does their best at school.
You may notice that one element of the report appears to be missing, “What the school could do better”. Much of our work was described by inspectors as exemplary and this section was left blank! This does not mean we will not continue to look for ways to improve and your views on this will always be welcome.
Many congratulations Khalsa Primary School, a great school where we all work together to ensure success.
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Mr Raminder Singh Vig
Principal
