SEN Teaching Assistant

Required from January 2022/Immediate start

32.5 hours a week, term time only, plus INSET days

Sikh Academies Trust are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join Khalsa Primary School.

Khalsa Primary School is a two-form entry, successful, popular and thriving Sikh faith school.  It is an outstanding school with high standards of achievement.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • model positive behaviour
  • model appropriate language and positive social interaction
  • assist in instructing and supervising children during class activities
  • follow intervention plans and guidance set out in individual education plans (IEP) and Education, Health and Care plans (EHCP)
  • plan and develop age-appropriate activities in conjunction with the teacher
  • incorporate required activities into lesson plans to support children’s development

As KPS welcomes growing numbers of SEN children especially with ASD diagnosis, experience or additional qualifications in working with SEN pupils will be appreciated.
