Write out the Word of the Week

Write a new sentence using this week’s word

This week we will focus on
writing a letter to thank someone.
First you need to think about who you might write to.

Create a list of all the people who
you might like to thank for something. It might be family and friends
but could also be people in the wider community. Once you’ve written
your list, choose just 1 person to write to.

You have decided who you will
write to, now you need to think
about why. What are you thanking them for? Write 2-5 Connected Sentences
about the specific things you want to thank your recipient for.

Give your recipient some compliments to make them
smile when they read your letter! Write 2-5 1A sentences about your recipient.

Write your thank you letter!
Look at this PowerPoint to remind yourself about the
layout of an informal letter.

Use your connected sentences and 1A sentences to write the body of your letter.
